The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for an Administrative Associate (part-time 25 hours/week) in our Great Rivers Affiliate office located in Columbus Ohio. This position will serve as a project manager to provide administrative support to AHA ’ s signature Heart Ball fundraising event and additional cultivation and fundraising events.
Essential Job Duties:
Supporting Columbus’s signature Heart Ball (gala) and other special events
Supporting Executive Leadership Team meetings
Coordinating meetings and calendars
Data entry of participants, sponsorships and donations and generating reports
Written correspondence including memos, presentations, newsletters, meeting minutes, meeting agendas, etc
Event volunteer coordination, communication, and training
Coordinating event logistics
Organizing night-of-event auction programming (live, silent, super silent)
Preparing daily bank deposits and handling account receivables
Accounting for event income on a weekly basis
Accounts payable and expense reporting

Must have earned a high school diploma or GED.
Must have at least one year experience in a related role.
Strong customer service focus.
Strong computer skills specifically proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher and database tools.
Previous experience with sales and/or fundraising databases and accounts payable/receivable programs desired.
Experience with social media, specifically Facebook and Twitter.
Proven track record of completing administrative related tasks such as reviewing, responding to and typing letters, reviewing documents, manuals and other office correspondence.
Self-starter and ability to work independently.
Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and thrive in a high-pace work environment.
Strong professional written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills including ability to interact with high level corporate executives and community leaders.
Ability to successfully pass a background check.
Reliable transportation and ability to work some nights/weekends as needed for events.
