The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Distribution & System Manager at our office located in Mesquite, TX.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing management services to the American Heart Association’s warehouse, distribution and fulfillment activities provided by a 3 rd party logistics provider (currently Taylor Communications) in support of AHA’s projects and programs under the guidance of the Director of Distribution. Activities include the monitoring and analyzing of shipping, receiving and inventories. This activity is accomplished by effective collaboration with internal staff and AHA’s supply chain provider Taylor Communications.
Here are some of the essential job duties:
Monitors, advises and summarizes distribution activities at the MRC related to outsourced supplier conducting AHA business.
Collaborates with supplier and provides direction on AHA customer service activities, processes and functions as related to National Center and affiliate staff and distributors, as appropriate.
Serves as the Order Processing and Inventory Management System expert. In this capacity, supports periodic customer request for reports and guidance on distribution issues.
Ensures inventory management compliance and accountability for inventories, cycle counts, and obsolescence.
Collaborates and communicates with various departments (Procurement Services, Client Services, Finance, ECC and other business units) to ensure timely coordination of distribution management activities.
Functions as the primary liaison on warehousing, distribution , fulfillment and online order process ing
Proposes policies, processes and strategies to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of distribution.
Ensures that distribution issues are resolved in a timely, efficient and effective manner.
Assists with facility management and maintenance.

A Bachelor’s degree in general business administration with five (5) years’ experience in management of warehousing and distribution activities and processes; or ten (10) years of warehousing and distribution operations with (5) management experience.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at various levels of the organization as well as with suppliers.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and five (5) years of experience working in an automated inventory management system.
Knowledge of inventory and warehouse management systems.
Knowledge of logistics management.
Excellent customer service skills.
Proven ability to investigate, evaluate, make decisions and implement processes in a timely manner.
Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to make decisions independently.
Excellent organization, time management, follow-through and documentation skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Facility management & maintenance experience
