The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Temporary Intern position in our Business Technology team for a Graphic Designer position at our office located in Dallas, TX.
In this role, you will work in a highly collaborative environment, creating beautiful, inspiring, and sometimes wacky content to support, delight and inspire our customerss responsible for translating business and technical objectives into creative strategies, concepts, and designs. The Graphic Designer recommends the most effective way to translate and communicate technical concepts across multiple media channels and to business-oriented audiences. This position will work on graphic design, website development, landing page design and correlating specs, collateral development, digital advertising, promotions, and custom coding HTML for Pardot.
This role is people-oriented and involves working with internal technical team and business personnel, developing communication strategies, and understanding business objectives
Create visually stunning, engaging, innovative infographics, presentations, Board materials, department communications and customer materials
Translate complex technical concepts into simple easy to understand business material
Work closely with leadership to ensure precision, meet deadlines and exceed expectations.
Develop communication strategy encompassing the services, work and value of the technology department
Must be able to help make recommendations, visually improve existing graphics, as well as develop new ideas to deliver alternatives
Able to clearly articulate ideas and concepts
Multi-task while maintaining direct focus on top priorities
Maintain consistency within all brand principles and ensure all work accurately represents from the AHA brand.
Use the latest tools to push the envelope to position technology in business terms using typography, icons, infographics, and visual storytelling.
Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all requisite software applications relative to digital and print media: Sketch & Adobe CS INDD, PS, AI.
Promote continual creative improvement and actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.
Experience in Graphic or Visual Design, Design Communications, Fine Arts or a related field with proven ability to work across web, print, Mobile, etc.
Minimum skills required:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to self-manage multiple projects simultaneously
Experience communicating complex concepts concisely
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of graphic designing software in a Mac environment
Mastery in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects is a plus
Experience with Sketch
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint) and iWork (Keynote)
General knowledge of HTML and CSS (understanding of how comps translate to code)
