The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for an Sr Digital Developer (.net) in our Business Technology departmentlocated at our National Center office located in Dallas, TX .

This senior level position will support existing websites and web based applications as well as create solutions for the AHA public web properties space and for internal AHA staff use.Working with project managers, subject matter experts, and other Business Technology professionals, this position will write software using Microsoft tools such as Visual Studio, C# and write web applications on the front-end layer using modern web tools such as HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS3, and related technologies.This position will also apply skills in responsive web design & best practices in usability and web accessibility. In addition, this position will assist in incident troubleshooting, resolving, ticket triaging/escalation for our web properties.

The ideal individuals are experienced with working in remote based development positions. So, it is key that you will be able to work with a team fluidly via email and other online communication channels. Being able to communicate effectively and accurately estimate and hit project goals or service level agreements are essential. Essential Job Duties:

  • Design, develop and maintain web applications and Web API by using Microsoft technologies and other client languages (such as JavaScript, jQuery, Dapper, etc.)

  • Develop software artifacts based on requirements, solution architecture, application architecture, and development standards.

  • Test developed software in unit and integrated testing cycles. Support user acceptance testing and defect remediation.

  • Handle incoming tickets and defects including preliminary debugging, triaging, escalating and communicating back to customers on status of the tickets.

  • Support the clarification and refinement of business requirements.

  • Provide estimations based on requirements and functional specs.

  • Provide coordination, production, and project support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related certification or equivalent related work experience

  • Five (5) years of experience in software development using Microsoft .Net full-stack and related technologies

  • Five (5) years of experience in web development technologies using HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, XML or C# programming language

  • Five (5) years of experience with REST Web API; ASP.NET MVC 5; ASP.NET Entity Framework

  • Three (3) years of experience with ticketing systems; troubleshooting web application defects, and debugging with in-browser tools

  • Three (3) years of experience with Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS) or similar project tracking tools

  • Two (2) years of experience with SQL Server database development including Transact-SQL and table design

  • Two(2) years of experience writing Stored Procedures

  • Customer service minded with excellent communication skills

  • Solutions oriented with good problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience with Azure platform

  • Three (3) years of experience working with identity management solutions (SSO)

  • Two (2) years of Sitecore CMS development and admin experience

  • Two (2) years of Angular or another JavaScript framework experience

  • Understanding of Content Management Systems
