Responsibilities

The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Senior IT Program Manager in our office located in Dallas, TX.

In this role, You will be responsible for managing prioritization of a business segment(s) project requests and aligning resources across multiple departments to deliver accordingly and monitoring to enable success criteria achievement. Oversees complex information technology programs and projects from initiation through stabilization.

You will be directing and assigning cross functional project teams in initiation, design, development, testing, training and execution of program related projects. You will partner with senior staff to provides clear direction of technology and process initiatives and report progress of portfolio heath.

Qualifications

Essential Job Duties:

  • Defines project success criteria, scope and secures funding and resources to ensure successful project delivery. Establishes project prioritization, resource alignment and scheduling.

  • Ensures that all assigned projects follow standard procedures for management and deployment of projects. Hires, trains, and motivates team of Project Managers and Business Analysts to deliver projects/initiatives for assigned business segment.

  • Coaches employees and conducts team assessment and evaluations.

  • Facilitates and develops assessment of business segment technology requirements.

  • Identifies and presents strategy to stakeholder and Business Technology leadership.

  • Reports the progress and health of the program portfolio as well as issues, challenges and recommendations to management stakeholders

  • Provides project management and business analysis support as needed or required by scheduling or priority of small to medium projects.

  • Identifies and solves project issues effectively. Collaborates and reviews project plans with Risk Management or Vendor Management to mitigate any challenges or delays to successful project delivery.

  • Ensures that all initiatives adhere to AHA standard policies and procedures and Business Technology strategy used in the management and deployment of projects.

  • Reviews and monitors project and technical documentation.

  • Partners with senior staff to understand business segments of the organization. Provides clear direction of technology and process initiatives.

  • Contributes to overall Business Technology strategic planning process.

  • Ensures that all projects are in alignment with the overall AHA strategic vision and AHA architecture.

  • Minimum (8) eight years of experience in program management and related field.

  • Experience managing multiple project work streams or related portfolio

  • Experience supervising Project Management teams consisting of business analysts and project managers

  • Experience communication business to technology leadership and technology initiatives to non-technology groups

  • Ability to evaluate, coach and lead team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a project manager Experience as a business analyst
