The National Center of the Amercan Heart Association has a great opportunity for a Staff Accountant located in our headquarters in Dallas, TX. The Staff Accountant performs a variety of duties related to revenue activity (i.e., billing, recording cash receipts, receivable payment application, reconciliation of accounts.) The Revenue Accountant regularly interfaces with National Center and Affiliate staff on accounts receivable and cash receipt questions, providing support to external and internal customers.

Essential Duties

  • Enters or uploads daily cash receipts information from bank lockboxes to financial accounting system. Applies invoice payments from all sources to customer accounts

  • Enters data into accounts receivable module from source documents to generate invoices. Submits invoices to customers.

  • Uploads and coding of transactions from 3 rd party (i.e. Fidelity)

  • Provides customer (external & internal) service to resolve billing issues or cash receipt concerns.

  • Reconciles revenue related general ledger accounts as assigned

  • Assists with preparation of annual audit schedules related accounts receivable as assigned

  • Completes training courses to improve the skills necessary to successfully perform responsibilities


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the related field

  • Experience with general ledger accounting practices, policies, and audit requirements

  • Skilled in PC applications including Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point

  • Ability to learn, think, reason, research, and solve problems

  • Ability to work independently

  • Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Experience with automated accounting and finance systems

  • Skilled in planning projects and working against deadlines to provide product

  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of AHA staff

  • Skilled in oral and written communication
