Responsibilities

Health Strategies Specialist– Houston

Responsible for providing support to QSI (Quality Systems Improvement) Director, Community CPR Manager and RQI Development Manager and related program development, communication and training.

Essential job duties:

  • Participate in internal meetings to support the execution of CPR programs and appropriate execution of CPR training standards.

  • Support execution of Community CPR Strategies including, but not limited to Hands Only CPR Training, execution of grant deliverables, management of retail opportunities, implementation of sponsorship deliverables, customer support, inventory management and shipment tracking.

  • Support partnerships with external volunteer networks, managing relationships & providing technical support and training.

  • Track gaps and provide reporting to national organization

  • Manage gifts supporting CPR and track restricted revenue income.

  • Manage logistics & planning for AHA conferences in Greater Houston; support similar events affiliate-wide.

  • Manage participation in educational meetings, conference visits, and other events as directed.

  • Track regional strategy, milestones, and deadlines; hold team accountable for assigned action items

  • Support marketing efforts through research, editing, and planning.

  • Collaborate with Affiliate staff to manage distribution of program recognition.

  • Plan and execute internal meetings.

  • Take meeting minutes, manage expenses, track calendars and coordinate travel and schedule for QSI Director, Community CPR Manager and RQI Development Manager.

  • Coordinate grant applications, reports and internal/external reporting documents.

  • Serves as an AHA representative with key community organizations and partners.

  • Plan & coordinate committee meetings including agenda and presentation preparation.

  • Aid in the creation and production of materials for campaigns, events and programs.

  • Monitors national, state and local health trends.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences or related area, or equivalent work experience

  • Two (2) years of experience supporting health impact teams and programs

  • Knowledge and experience with health programming

  • Excellent written/oral communication skills, as well as demonstrated skills in consultation and meetings management

  • Expertise in Excel

  • Expertise in MS Office Suite

  • Ability to Travel Locally 25%

  • Ability to travel out of state quarterly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual preferred but not required

  • Certified BLS (Basic Life Support) Instructor
